President - Alpha Nash

Alpha has been teaching art for more than twelve years. She has served as a mentor teacher to fellow art teachers for the last four years in CCSD, and has served as the department chair for Electives at Del Sol Academy of Performing Arts High School, where she currently teaches Ceramics. Alpha has a passion for all things fiber and stained glass.
President Elect - Dr. Chad Scott

Chad Scott is an interdisciplinary artist and arts educator whose work frequently draws upon his background in cultural sociology and arts education. While his work tends to function as social and cultural critique, since becoming a father, he turned the mirror back on himself, committed to creating space for introspective placemaking. Chad is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator for Art Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he also serves as an artist-in-residence for the Zeiter Literacy Development Center.

Art Educator for 19 years, NAEA Pacific Region Middle Level Art Educator of the Year, NAEA Middle Level Pacific Regional Director and actively involved with the Pacific Region Leadership Team all year.
Webmaster - Teresa Rodrick

Teresa has been teaching for 10 years. She has taught film, theatre, technical theatre, fashion, film, and now is teaching art. She is currently a middle school art teacher in Clark County School District. She is looking forward to helping connect more art teachers across the state.
Shannon Schiavone- Co-Chair Membership [North] and Co-Chair Conference

Shannon has been teaching art in the Reno Community since 2003, building her experience through organizations like Arts for All and The Nevada Discovery Museum. In 2013, she began her career in the classroom as an elementary art teacher and in 2020, she moved to teaching Ceramics at Damonte Ranch High School. She is a part of the Visual Arts Leadership team for the WCSD. She has her BA Degree in Art History and her M.Ed., from UNR. When there is time, she is a potter who builds handmade pieces to sell at local Reno craft fairs.
Stephanie Fuoco - Co-Chair of Memebership [South], and Youth Art Month (YAM) Chair

Having been born in Kingston, NY in 1985, Stephanie Fuoco was drawing as early as she could hold a crayon. In high school, she learned graphic design, completing an independent study in the subject and also AP 2D Design, graduating in 2003. She went on to acquire a Bachelor of Science in Visual Art in 2007 from SUNY New Paltz. Stephanie’s first post-college art show was in Saugerties, NY in 2010, and her talents took her into various graphic design jobs in Florida. After working in the restaurant industry for 15 years, she discovered that there was a need for teachers in Las Vegas. She was hired at Clark County School district, teaching kindergarten, first grade, and second grade, until she attained her art endorsement and then became an art specialist at Shirley Barber Elementary School. Stephanie’s students have been displaying their art at City of the World Art Gallery for two years, which led to her become the featured artist in January of 2024. Her vibrant creations of mixed media paintings brighten any room. Stephanie is a National Board Certified Teacher.

Marita Mueller - NAEA ED&I State Liaison

Marita Mueller is a K-12 th Art teacher in the Clark County School District. She was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. She graduated from Bishop Gorman High School and went to college at the University of Nevada Las Vegas with Honors and a major in Art, and minor in Art History/Education. She has been teaching art for over 14 years in CCSD and has taught all grade levels, while currently teaching ceramics at Durango High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marita loves painting and ceramics and has had a passion for the arts since she was a little girl!
